Essa Township got some good news from their annual audit.
The accounting firm Collins Barrows Kawarthas delivered the good news at the first meeting of Essa Council since the election.
The accountants said were reserves were healthy while the per capita burden on the taxpayer was low.
Outgoing Mayor Terry Dowdall was pleased but not surprised by the positive report
Mayor Dowdall did not run for re-election.
myFM asked him how residents, while seeing healthy municipal bank account, also see annual property tax increases.
Dowdall says it is prudent approach to keeping the Township prospering.

The new council will be sworn in December 5th
