Innisfil Council has decided to defer their decision on whether or not allow retail cannabis shops in their town.
Municipalities have until January 22nd to tell the province if they are in or out.
Mayor Lynn Dollin says this is not a decision they are taking lightly so more information was requested by several of the councillors.
A total of $40-million dollars is available from the province for municipalities who opt in to allow legal cannabis retail outlets.
Dollin says an on-line survey came back with 70% in favour of the retail pot shops Innisfil and that is also weighing on their decision.
Council will meet again on January 17th to make their decision.
