A joy ride in a stolen vehicle has lead to charges for Guelph man.
South Simcoe Police were called to a home in the Big Bay Point Road and Richview Road area in Innisfil about a stolen car.
While enroute they received a second call indicating the vehicle had been returned and the suspect was being held for police
The bystander claimed he had been assaulted by the suspect but did not require medical attention.
Officers did detect the odour of alcohol on the suspect.
The 55 year old Guelph man blew twice the legal limit.
So, on top of being charged with assault, auto theft and driving while disqualified police tacked on an impaired charge.
