The first human case of West Nile Virus has been confirmed in Simcoe Muskoka this year.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has been unable to verify where the individual contracted the
disease….. since the person had done dome traveling.
Doctors are warning that the end of the summer does not mean the end of mosquito bite protection.
They recommend continuing to use approved insect repellent, covering up when the bugs are present, usually
early morning and evening…… and mosquito proofing your house so they don’t hang around until next year.
