Fire Chief, Kevin Gallant in Bradford West Gwillimbury is headed for retirement at the end of May and waiting in the wings is the Chief of the Innisfil Fire Department.
Tom Raeburn has been appointed the interim joint Chief of both the Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services and the Bradford West Gwillimbury Fire and Emergency Services.
Innisfil Mayor, Lynn Dollin says the province has asked all municipalities to find ways to provide more efficient services and this is one way the two neighbouring towns can do just that.
Tom Raeburn, was sworn in as Chief of the Innisfil Department in 2018 after former Chief Matthew Pegg left to head up the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Department.
A review will be conducted to find out if a shared fire service will benefit the communities
The two department will operate as separate services under the leadership of Raeburn, until a decision is made.
