Unlike most of us, Alliston’s Jacob Holmes is about to slide on an NHL jersey that wasn’t bought in a sporting goods store.
The 18 year-old, who plays defence for the Soo Greyhounds of the OHL, was drafted last weekend by the Dallas Stars.
He says Dallas wasn’t the only potential suitor.
He will head to the Stars development and rookie camps in September, but realizes most likely, he’ll head back to the OHL this fall.
He says Stars GM Jim Nill was the first call he got welcoming him to the organization.
