The Town of New Tecumseth and the province have honoured New Tec’s Fire Chief for four decades of service.
Dan Heydon is the Chief of New Tecumseth Fire Rescue and Director of Emergency Services for the Town
This year marks 40 years as a firefighter, after joining the Alliston Fire Service in December of 1980.
There have been a few changes since then, for the town and for him in the profession.
But he says there was never anything else he had planned on doing as a career.
Chief Heydon is also Provincial Fire Coordinator for Simcoe County.
