Since 1948, more than 125,000 Canadian peacekeepers have participated in dozens of international efforts all over the world.
National Peacekeepers’ Day was established in Canada in 2008.
A ceremony and parade will be held tomorrow (aug9) to mark the occasion..
This year marks the 75th anniversary and Peacekeepers Park in Angus will be officially unveiling artwork done to honour fallen soldiers.
284 portraits now hang on eight free-standing walls, with information to acknowledged the sacrifices made by the man and woman of the Canadian Military who are no longer with us.
The project aims to honour and educate so people don’t forget.
A parade will begin at 10:30 tomorrow morning.
A ceremony to open the project and mark the 75th anniversary will then be held at Peacekeepers Park.
