Drivers might want to ease up on the gas pedal as they head through Cookstown.
As promised by Innisfil Town Council earlier this year, a red light camera has been installed at the intersection of Highway 89 and County Road 27.
Drivers will not be ticketed this week (nov 20-27) for infractions as Town Staff are still conducting testing.
An observational experiment by the Town in February of this year snapped pictures of 650 drivers run the red between the hours of 5 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Many of the culprits were large commercial vehicles.
Tickets for those who fail to stop for the red light, will be issued to the owner of the vehicle and can run upwards of $300.
The camera is set to go live soon, but Council has not finalized a date.
