A joint funding program between the provincial and federal governments will help meat processing businesses and abattoirs.
Brian Saunderson, the MPP for Simcoe-Grey issued a statement, welcoming up to $150,000 for White Veal Meat Packers Ltd. in Cookstown.
The funding will go toward the purchase and installation of conveyors for boxing, and semiautomatic clippers to increase labour productivity.
What started as a family-owned wholesale butcher shop, is now a thriving, state of the art operation.
The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of March of this year.
