This year’s OPP Fraud Prevention Month campaign focus on 20 years of fighting fraud.
The 2024 campaign will showcase how fraud has evolved over the past 2 decades.
The goal of the campaign is to give Canadians the information, tools, and strategies to recognize, reject and report fraud.
The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre received fraud reports totaling $554 million in victim losses just last year.(2023)
It is estimated that only 5 to 10 per cent of victims report scams and frauds to authorities.
The top five frauds affecting Canadians include Spear phishing, Romance frauds, Job scams and Service frauds.
OPP will be raising awareness throughout the month of March and will offer tips so you can keep your money.
