7 people have been arrested and are facing 150 charges between them after police infiltrated alleged organized crime networks to purchase guns, cocaine, and stolen vehicles.
Toronto police were involved in 2 separate sting operations Project Spectre began in April of last year…
Undercover officers successfully purchased six firearms and more than 200 grams of cocaine.
They also gathered enough information to launch a second probe, dubbed Project Paranoid, which focused on the trafficking, shipping and re-vinning of stolen vehicles.
Investigators say 48 stolen vehicles were discovered… worth an estimated $3.75 million.
In total… 20 of the vehicles were found at a shipping location in Burlington with help from Halton Regional Police.
5 vehicles were purchased by undercover officers, 3 were seized during search warrants and another 20 were picked up in Toronto and Montreal with assistance from Canada Border
Service Agency officers.
