This years Easter Bunny might have been a little smaller and bit more expensive than in previous years.
The price of cocoa has risen dramatically, due mostly to weather and crop disease.
Lachlan McGurk, Owner of Belfry Chocolates in Alliston says he refuses to do what so many others have done and taken part in “shrinkflation”.

McGurk says using a less expensive base product, might save him money initially but not in the long run as his customers know his chocolate and would figure it out pretty quickly.
He says for now he is able to maintain the price and size of his chocolate bars and still turn a profit.
