A suspect has been identified and an arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect for involvement in an explosion involving a parked vehicle in Barrie in September.
Emergency Services responded to the report of an explosion involving a parked vehicle on Anne Street in that city..
During the investigation of the scene an unexploded improvised explosive device was located a short distance away.
Barrie Police is seeking the publics assistance in locating 36-year-old William Ivan Downey who is wanted for his involvement in the explosion.
He is believed to be somewhere in the GTA, York Region, or Durham Region.
Police have shared a picture of Downey but believe that he may have changed his appearance by shaving his head.
Given the nature of the pending charges, police encouraging anyone with information on the whereabouts of this person, not to approach him, but to call 911.
He is described as being 5’5”, 160lbs., with a slim build and a full beard.
