Two people have been injured following a “violent interaction” in Barrie.
On Monday, August 19th, shortly after 2:00 a.m., the Barrie Police Service responded to a plaza located at the southeast corner of Cundles Road East and Sperling Drive. They were told that someone had been struck and possibly run over by a vehicle.
They learned on scene that two males had been outside of a business in the plaza when they got into a fight with a group trying to stealing a Jeep that was in the parking lot. Another male came outside from a nearby business to help and he was struck by a car, while one of the initially involved males was stabbed.
The injured men were transported to a local hospital, and one was later transported to Toronto area trauma centre to be treated for multiple stab wounds.
This investigation is currently in the early stages and is being investigated by detectives from the Barrie Police Criminal Investigation Division who are being assisted by the Service’s Forensic Identification Unit.
