New Tecumseth Council has finalized the 2025 budget, and that means your taxes are going up once again.
There will be a 3.67% increase in local taxes. Starting in April, water and sewage rates will also rise by 15% and 8.5%, respectively.
As a result, the average homeowner in the town, with an assessment of $456,000, will see an increase of just over 3%. That totals out to be roughly $144.
The budget also includes a $4.4 million increase in taxation, primarily for salaries and benefits.
Additional Town staff will not be hired, reducing the towns budget by over $320,000.
