New Tecumseth Council has updated its Parking and Traffic by-law, to prevent misuse of electric vehicle charging stations.
It’s now illegal to park in an EV charging spot unless your vehicle is actively charging.
Even electric vehicles cannot occupy a charging station if they are not plugged in and charging.
Anyone found violating the new rules could face fines under the Highway Traffic Act.
