The Town of Innisfil is reminding drivers to keep an eye on their speed as automated speed enforcement (ASE) cameras have been rotated to new locations.
These cameras are set up in designated community safety zones, often near schools and community centres, to help protect vulnerable road users.
The new active ASE camera locations include:
- Webster Boulevard, near Lake Simcoe Public School
- Innisfil Beach Road, near Alcona Glen Elementary School
- Yonge Street at Lynn Street, Stroud
- 9th Line, near Goodfellow Public School
Drivers near Alcona Glen Elementary School may notice the flashing lights have been covered. Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act requires static speed limit signs instead of flashing indicators when cameras are active, ensuring consistency for drivers.
Since launching in 2024, Innisfil’s ASE program has already proven effective. Local results show speeds have dropped by up to 20 km in monitored zones, aligning with recent CAA South Central Ontario data that confirms ASE changes driver behaviour.
Revenue from the program not only covers operating costs but also funds traffic safety education, enforcement, and engineering projects across the town. For updates on camera locations, click here.
