Dog owners in Beeton can look forward to a better park experience as improvements are set to begin at the Stewart Street Off-Leash Dog Park.
Construction starts Monday, September 8th, with upgrades focused on drainage, accessibility, and overall usability.
Work will include removing the fence between the small and large dog areas to allow equipment access, filling low-lying spots prone to water buildup, and closing internal pathways temporarily for safety. About 75% of the park will be covered with mulch to improve drainage and comfort, while select areas will be hydro-seeded for new grass growth.
The southeastern portion of the park will remain closed until Spring 2026 to give seeded areas time to establish; however, most other construction activities are expected to wrap up by October 13th, 2025.
Officials say these upgrades will make the park more enjoyable year-round and ask for patience during the work.
