The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library is bringing back one of the community’s favourite annual events.
Now in its 11th year, MakerFEST is a celebration of creativity and innovation, featuring family storytime, green screen photos, HackLAB programs, and a LEGO robotics demonstration. This year’s special guest is none other than Transformers’ Bumblebee, who will make two live appearances at 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. With a high-energy entrance, interactive games, and photo opportunities, Bumblebee is set to be a highlight for kids and families alike.
Visitors will also meet an exciting lineup of makers, including:
- Sheresha McIntyre, an analog collage artist and poet whose work blends fantasy and retro play with the Black experience
- Frank Smart, a wood and metal craftsman showcasing handmade models of cars, boats, and engines
- Lora’s Lovables, with interactive crochet activities
- AF Lakescape Design, known for intricate 3D wood lake signs
The event will also unveil the Community Veggie Patch, a collaborative art project featuring over 500 wooden vegetables painted by residents.
With so many interactive displays, creative showcases, and community-driven projects, MakerFEST offers something for all ages. Whether you’re inspired by art, technology, or simply looking for a fun family outing, this event is designed to spark imagination and connection.
MakerFEST 2025 takes place on Saturday, September 13th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Lakeshore Branch – located at 967 Innisfil Beach Road.
