The Ontario government is investing more than $12.8 million to renew and rehabilitate critical infrastructure in Simcoe-Grey.
MPP Brian Saunderson made the announcement this week in New Tecumseth.
This funding is part of the 2026 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF), which supports small and rural municipalities with essential upgrades to roads, bridges, and water and wastewater systems.
Allocations for Simcoe-Grey municipalities include:
- Township of Adjala-Tosorontio: $537,274
- Clearview Township: $577,306
- Town of Collingwood: $1,052,428
- Essa Township: $630,539
- Town of New Tecumseth: $2,650,503
- Town of the Blue Mountains: $2,128,245
- Town of Wasaga Beach: $1,162,981
- County of Simcoe: $4,151,285
MPP Saunderson said the investment will “help municipalities across Simcoe-Grey invest in the essential infrastructure our communities rely on every day.” Infrastructure Minister Kinga Surma added that increasing the OCIF minimum grant to $125,000 will provide stability and predictability for small and rural communities.
New Tecumseth Mayor Richard Norcross welcomed the funding, calling it a vital boost for projects that “improve the quality of life for our residents and strengthen the resilience of our community.”
Province-wide, Ontario will allocate $400 million through OCIF in 2026 to help 423 municipalities. Communities can bank funding for up to five years to support larger infrastructure projects.
