A 27-year-old Beeton resident is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash in New Tecumseth.
Nottawasaga OPP say officers were called to 10 Sideroad, between the 3rd and 4th Line, on Tuesday, September 30th, just before 5:30 p.m., where a vehicle had gone into a ditch. Police met with the driver and determined their ability to operate a vehicle was impaired. The driver was arrested at the scene.
The individual has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on October 30th.
Police remind drivers that impaired driving is a serious offence with significant penalties. Anyone who suspects an impaired driver should call 9-1-1 or provide an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
