A quick-thinking witness helped Barrie Police arrest a suspect following a break and enter on Codrington Street last week.
Police say the call came in just before 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26th, after the sound of breaking glass was heard at a home. A witness saw a man running from the rear of the house into a nearby ravine and provided dispatchers with a detailed description. Responding officers quickly located the suspect on Blake Street, where a brief foot chase ended with his arrest.
A 67-year-old man has been charged with:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Break-in Instruments
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
He was held for a bail hearing but later released, and is scheduled to appear in court on October 27th.
