The Town of Innisfil is marking World Mental Health Day with two Speak Your Mind events this month, designed to open up conversations about youth mental health and reduce stigma.
A virtual workshop for parents and guardians will be held on Wednesday, October 8th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., offering tools and resources to support young people, in partnership with CFS Counselling + Wellbeing and New Path Youth and Family Services.
Then, on October 24th, the HEADSTRONG Youth Mental Health Summit will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Innisfil Recreational Complex. Open to students in Grades 7 – 9, the free event includes inspiring speakers, hands-on activities, prizes, lunch, and transportation from select locations.
Mayor Lynn Dollin encourages both youth and their guardians to participate, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness and community support.
Registration for the youth summit is open until October 12th here.
