The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is calling on local youth to get involved and make a difference in their community.
Applications are now open for the Youth Council Advisory Committee (YCAC). The Town is looking for motivated youth between the ages of 12 and 18 who want to share their ideas and help shape the future of BWG.
Committee members will have the opportunity to advise Council on issues that matter to young people, including education, recreation, employment, and public safety – while also organizing community events and youth initiatives. Participants will build valuable leadership skills, collaborate with peers, and gain volunteer hours toward their high school requirements.
Mayor James Leduc praised the committee’s achievements.
“The committee has done a remarkable job in its inaugural year, laying a strong foundation for youth engagement and leadership in our community. I can’t wait to see what the second year brings as the committee continues to grow and make a meaningful impact.”
Five youth seats are available for a one-year volunteer term, with members serving until successors are appointed.
Submissions will be accepted until November 12th at 4:00 p.m.
