The Nottawasaga Foundation has once again shown its dedication to local healthcare by contributing another $100,000 to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF), advancing its ongoing $1 million pledge.
Established in 2017 to mark the Foundation’s 25th anniversary, the pledge supports the Because of YOU Campaign, a major effort to expand and modernize the hospital.
This latest donation will help fund equipment, technology, and construction costs for the new Stevenson Memorial Hospital facility, scheduled to open in 2029.
“Our continued support reflects our belief in the vital role Stevenson Memorial Hospital plays in our community,” says a Nottawasaga Foundation representative in a release.
The Foundation’s partnership with the Biffis Family and SMHF has already helped bring advancements such as digital mammography and improved maternal care services. SMHF CEO Frank Cerisano thanked the Foundation for its “unwavering support,” calling their leadership “the cornerstone” of the hospital’s growth.
The Because of YOU Campaign aims to raise $80 million to triple the hospital’s size, adding expanded emergency care, advanced diagnostic imaging, including its first MRI suite, and modern inpatient and surgical facilities.
