A Barrie man has been arrested following a spree of overnight break-ins targeting small fast-food businesses in the city.
Between September 23rd and October 22nd, police investigated 16 overnight break and enters where cash registers and safes were stolen. Following a joint investigation, the Barrie Police–South Simcoe Police Street Crime Auto Theft Unit arrested a 42-year-old Barrie man early Thursday morning.
He faces 62 total charges, including Break and Enter, Disguise with Intent, and Possession of Break-In Tools.
Barrie Police say he was scheduled for a bail hearing last Thursday.
Police remind residents and business owners to keep video surveillance systems operational to assist in future investigations.
