The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Enforcement Division has launched its annual Accessible Parking Blitz.
This year’s theme is, “Respect the Space: No Permit? No Parking.” The campaign aims to remind residents that accessible parking spaces are essential for people who rely on them daily, not for convenience.
Throughout November, officers will increase patrols across parking lots and roadways, ensuring only vehicles with valid permits use designated spaces. In 2024, the Town issued 39 tickets for accessible parking violations, and officials say the goal this year is education and awareness.
“These spaces are designed for individuals who truly need them—to access groceries, attend appointments, or simply go about their day,” says Robert Belsey, Manager of Enforcement. “Even parking for a minute without a permit can take away that access. ‘Respect the Space’ is a reminder that accessibility begins with all of us.”
Residents are encouraged to follow the Town’s social media channels for accessibility tips, permit reminders, and ways to support a more inclusive community.
