The Ontario government has launched a new Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub in Barrie and surrounding communities, part of a $550 million provincial investment to expand access to mental health, addictions, and housing supports.
The Simcoe County HART Hub connects residents to services such as addiction treatment, crisis support, primary care, employment programs, and supportive housing.
“The opening of the Simcoe County HART Hub marks a significant milestone in strengthening access to mental health, addictions, and housing supports across our region,” says Andrea Khanjin, MPP for Barrie–Innisfil. “This investment ensures that individuals and families in our community can access the right care at the right time, close to home. Together, we are building a stronger, safer and more compassionate Simcoe County for everyone.”
Operated by the County of Simcoe and the City of Barrie, the Hub works with local partners including CMHA Simcoe County, RVH, and Barrie Native Friendship Centre. Officials say the new network-based model will strengthen recovery access and improve community safety.
