Barrie Police have made an arrest following a stabbing at a residential rental unit on Dunlop Street East earlier this week.
Officers were called just before 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18th and found a 29-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital, where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, and a canine track was unsuccessful. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division later identified the suspect, and uniform officers arrested a 30-year-old man at a northeast Barrie residence at around 7:30 p.m.
He is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault.
Another (unrelated) stabbing was reported in Barrie last weekend.
Police say both incidents were isolated and the public was not at risk.
