The Alliston Hornets got back on track with an impressive showing in back-to-back-to-back games.
On Friday, December 12th, the Hornets welcomed in the Orillia Terriers to the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre.
They were able to get a hat trick from Nick Lamont, along with additional goals from Gunner Kirk and Noah Prokopec, to claim a 5-0 shut out win.
Anthony Lovisa was in net for Alliston. He stopped all 34 shots he faced for the win.
The next day, the Hornets travelled down the road to take on the Innisfil Spartans.
Nick Lamont had another strong showing, potting two goals in the first period. Cameron Lamont then got a goal of his own, followed by Ben Smith, Will Millington, and Gunner Kirk. The Hornets were able to get another shut out win, beating the Spartans 6-0.
Zack Barfitt was in net this time. He faced 18 shots, and stopped every single one of them.
The busy weekend had its main event on Sunday, December 14th.
The Hornets were back on the road to take on the Midland Flyers. It was all Midland early, scoring two goals in the first six minutes. Alliston was able to respond late, with Ben Smith potting his 10th of the year.
Gunner Kirk, Duncan Grube, and Tristen Pitt would add goals in the second period to help give the Hornets a 4-2 lead.
Midland would get one back in the final frame, but it wasn’t enough. Alliston beat the Flyers 4-3 to pull off the back-to-back-to-back wins.
Next up for the Hornets is a home game against the Huntsville Otters on Friday, December 19th. Game time at the New Tec Recreation Centre is set for 7:30 p.m. Ticket details can be found here.
