South Simcoe Police have arrested two people and laid multiple charges following a drug trafficking investigation in Innisfil.
Investigators executed a search warrant on Tuesday, December 23rd, as part of an ongoing investigation. Officers seized quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of about $20,000, along with Canadian currency and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
As a result, a 61-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine) ×2
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine) ×2
- Possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine) ×2
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 ×1
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code ×3
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance ×1
A 54-year-old Innisfil woman was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine) ×2
- Possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine) ×2
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 ×1
- Fail to comply with prohibition order ×1
Both accused have been held for a bail hearing.
The investigation remains ongoing.
