The regular season has come to an end for the Alliston Hornets.
It came after a series of back-to-back-to-back Family Day long weekend games.
The first of which came on Saturday, February 14th against the Midland Flyers. Alliston got a pair of goals each from Ben Smith and Nick Lamont, as well as a fifth from Jacob English to carry them to a 5-3 win.
It was a quick turnaround as the Hornets took on the Penetang Kings at home on Sunday. Gunner Kirk led the way with two goals, with offence also coming from Will Hopcraft, Noah Larmon, Noah Prokopec, and Mark Coish. That led to a 6-0 shutout win for the Hornets.
The Hornets remained at home for the final game of the season, as they welcomed in the Stayner Siskins.
This one was a high scoring affair, as the Hornets managed to beat the Siskins 11-5. Goals came from Cameron Lamont, Liam Carroll, Hunter Martell, Mark Coish, Noah Cochrane, Noah Prokopec, and Noah Larmon.
Alliston finished 2nd in the PJHL’s North Carruthers Division with a record of 32-10-0-0 in 42 games played. While the regular season was a step down compared to last year’s team that put together a staggering 40 wins, the Hornets are hoping this year’s playoff run fairs better. The 2024-2025 Hornets lost unceremoniously to the Orillia Terriers in the third round in just five games.
We’ll keep you updated on when the Hornets play their first playoff game.
