The County of Simcoe has begun accepting applications for its 2026 Age-Friendly Seniors Housing Grant, offering $500,000 in annual funding to help older adults remain safe and independent at home.
Now in its 9th year, the program is part of the County’s 2025 – 2030 Positive Aging Strategy and supports homeowners and landlords in making accessible and adaptable upgrades for residents aged 60 and older. Eligible improvements include mobility-friendly renovations and inclusive design features that allow seniors to age in place.
In 2025, the County approved 93 applications, reflecting continued demand across the region. Warden Basil Clarke says the grant plays a meaningful role in helping seniors stay connected to the homes and communities they value.
Applications close May 31st. Projects must be located within the County’s 16 municipalities, excluding Barrie and Orillia.
