The Alliston Hornets are off to the second round of the PJHL Playoffs, with the Orillia Terriers next on the docket.
It’s thanks to a four game series sweep over the Huntsville Otters that the Hornets are moving on. In those four games, the Hornets outscored the Otters 24-8, with the offence reaching at least five goals in each match-up.
This will be a series set in revenge, as the Hornets and Terriers faced off in the postseason last year. Despite finishing the 2024-2025 regular season undefeated in regulation, the Hornets were unable to get past Orillia in the third round, losing the series in five games. The final two games of the series drew crowds of more than 1100 people each.
Here’s the schedule for the seven game series:
- Game #1 – Alliston Hornets vs Orillia Terriers, Friday, March 6th, 7:30 p.m. at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre
- Game #2 – Alliston Hornets @ Orillia Terriers, Sunday, March 8th, 4:30 p.m. at the West Orillia Sports Complex
- Game #3 – Alliston Hornets vs Orillia Terriers, Friday, March 13th, 7:30 p.m. at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre
- Game #4 – Alliston Hornets @ Orillia Terriers, Saturday, March 14th, 7:30 p.m. at the West Orillia Sports Complex
- *Game #5 – Alliston Hornets vs Orillia Terriers, Sunday, March 15th, 2:30 p.m. at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre
- *Game #6 – Alliston Hornets @ Orillia Terriers, Tuesday, March 17th, 8:30 p.m. at the West Orillia Sports Complex
- *Game #7 – Alliston Hornets vs Orillia Terriers, Wednesday, March 18th, 7:30 p.m. at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre

During the 2025-2026 regular season, the two teams faced off a total of six times. Alliston came out victorious four times, which bodes well heading into this seven game series.
