Members of the local business community are invited to gather for the upcoming Mayor’s Business Breakfast in Innisfil this spring.
Hosted by the Town’s Economic Development Office, the breakfast will feature remarks from Lynn Dollin, Mayor of Innisfil, along with an economic outlook presentation from Robert Lavigne, Executive Vice President of Economic Research at OMERS Administration Corporation.
The event will also mark the launch of the inaugural Innisfil Business Achievement Awards, recognizing the accomplishments of local businesses and entrepreneurs.
“These awards are about celebrating the entrepreneurs, innovators, and employers who make Innisfil a dynamic place to live, work, and invest,” says Mayor Dollin. “Our local businesses are at the heart of our community’s success, and this is an opportunity to recognize their impact.”
The awards will highlight excellence in five categories:
- Innisfil Business of the Year Award – Recognizing an established business contributing to the local economy through job creation, strong customer service or sustained success.
- DMZ Innisfil Entrepreneur of the Year Award – Honouring an entrepreneur who has completed the DMZ Innisfil Startup Incubator or Business Accelerator program.
- Leader in Growth & Innovation Award – Celebrating businesses that have demonstrated measurable growth or implemented innovative approaches.
- Workplace Excellence Award – Recognizing organizations that create positive workplace cultures through talent development and inclusive practices.
- Innisfil Community Impact Award – Highlighting businesses that contribute to the community through partnerships, volunteerism or sustainability initiatives.
“This award program is about shining a spotlight on the businesses that are driving economic momentum in Innisfil,” adds Laura Thompson, the Town’s Manager of Economic Development.
Members of the business community can register for the Mayor’s Business Breakfast by April 6th. Nominations for the Business Achievement Awards are also open, with community members encouraged to nominate businesses demonstrating excellence in the various categories. The nomination deadline is March 24th.
The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on April 16th at the Lake Club Restaurant at Friday Harbour Resort.
