The Alliston Hornets are gaining momentum as they look to claim the North Carruthers Division title in the PJHL Playoffs.
With the series tied at 1-1, Game #3 of their series against the Stayner Siskins took place on Thursday, March 26th at the Stayner Memorial Arena.
It was all Alliston early on, with the Hornets getting three quick goals from Adam McKillop, Gunner Kirk, and Ben Smith in the first four minutes of the game. Stayner would eventually get on the board themselves, scoring twice before the first period came to a close.
In the second, the Siskins would tie it up before Alliston took control once again. Within the span of eight minutes, the Hornets got markers from Nick Lamont, Duncan Grube, and additional goals from Kirk and Smith. Stayner ad one late in the frame, making it 7-4 Alliston after 40 minutes of action.
The offence from both sides would dry up in the final period, allowing the Hornets to cruise to a 7-4 win. Alliston now leads the series 2-1.
Riley Arts was back in net for the Hornets, stopping 22 of 26 shots, giving him an .846% save percentage and the win.
It’ll be a quick turnaround for Game #4, with it scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27th at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre. Ticket information can be found here.
Game #5 will then take place on Sunday, March 29th in Stayner.
