Barrie Police are investigating a violent home invasion and attempted robbery that left three people injured last week.
Officers say the incident happened around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31st in the area of Draper Crescent near Leggott Avenue, when four masked suspects wearing gloves allegedly forced their way into a residence while armed with handguns. Police say the suspects demanded money, drugs, and jewelry, but fled the scene before officers arrived and it is not believed anything was taken. Investigators say the three occupants of the home, two males and one female, were assaulted during the incident and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Evidence at the scene indicates the suspects gained entry through the front door, though it remains unclear whether they fled on foot or in a vehicle or in which direction they travelled. Police say the incident appears to be isolated and, while firearms were involved and not recovered, there is no current risk to public safety.
The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information, including surveillance or dash camera footage from the area on March 31st, is asked to contact the investigating officer via email at klinkletter@barriepolice.ca.
