The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) have made an arrest and laid multiple charges following a shooting in Oakville.
Officers were called to the area of Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 29th, following reports of gunfire. One male was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and investigators believe the incident was targeted.
Investigators say an 18-year-old Barrie man was arrested in connection with the incident. Jayon Burgher has been charged with several offences:
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Use a Firearm While Committing an Offence
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Mischief to Property – Over $5000
Police say the accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
