Residents in Bradford West Gwillimbury are invited to connect with local first responders at an upcoming Community Open House next month.
Hosted by Bradford West Gwillimbury Fire and Emergency Services in partnership with South Simcoe Police Service, the event recognizes both Emergency Preparedness Week and National Police Week. The open house will offer residents the chance to meet firefighters and police officers, explore emergency vehicles, and learn more about safety and preparedness through interactive displays and live demonstrations.
“This event is a great opportunity to connect with the community we proudly serve and strengthen the bond between us to build safer, more inclusive neighbourhoods where everyone feels valued and protected,” representatives say.
The event will also feature activities for all ages, including games, demonstrations from Canine and Drone Units, and opportunities to speak with dispatchers and community partners such as the Canadian Red Cross and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
“Events like this are a great opportunity for residents to connect with the firefighters, police officers, and community partners who work every day to keep Bradford West Gwillimbury safe,” says Mayor James Leduc, noting the importance of community involvement in public safety.
The Community Open House takes place Wednesday, May 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Fire Station 1, located at 77 Melbourne Drive, with attendees encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation in support of the Bradford Helping Hand Foodbank.
