The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is encouraging families to take part in upcoming Kindergarten orientation sessions as children prepare to start school this fall.
Families with children registered to begin Kindergarten this September are invited to attend orientation sessions at their local school, where they can meet educators, connect with community partners, and learn more about what to expect in the classroom. The sessions are designed to help both students and parents feel more comfortable ahead of the first day of school, while also introducing them to their new school environment.
The board says these sessions are an important step in helping young learners transition into school, offering insight into how and what children will learn throughout the year.
Parents and guardians can find specific dates and details for their school here.
The board is also reminding families who have not yet registered that children turning four in 2026 are eligible to start Kindergarten this September. Registration information, including required documents, is available here or through local schools, with orientation sessions expected to take place in May and June.
