IOOF Seniors Homes LTC Residents
A local long-term care provider has launched a 50/50 raffle to support the future of senior care in Barrie.
IOOF Seniors Homes will run the fundraiser until May 31st, with proceeds going toward the redevelopment and expansion of its long-term care home.
The project will add 64 new beds and upgrade 66 existing ones, bringing the total capacity to 226 beds. The redevelopment includes renovations and a new addition designed to create more modern, home-like spaces with private bedrooms, lounges, and dedicated dining and activity areas. Construction is already underway, with phase one expected to welcome residents in spring 2028 and phase two in early 2029.
Raffle tickets are available online in multiple bundles, ranging from 10 tickets for $10 up to 400 tickets for $100. An early bird draw for $500 will be held for those who purchase tickets before May 15th, while the grand prize draw is set for June 1st.
Officials say community fundraising is essential for not-for-profit facilities like IOOF as they work to meet the growing needs of an aging population.
