Two men are facing multiple drug-related charges following a search warrant in downtown Barrie.
Officers executed a warrant on Thursday, April 30th at a residence along Dunlop Street East, between Clapperton and Owen streets.
The search resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and hydromorphone pills. Police also recovered a significant amount of Canadian currency, along with stolen tools and other items.
Two Barrie men, aged 26 and 38, are now facing multiple charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order
Police say the investigation is part of ongoing efforts to address drug activity in the city’s downtown, adding that officers will continue to maintain an increased presence in the area heading into the busy summer months.
