Barrie Police have charged a local man in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a child.
Investigators with the Crimes Against Persons Unit arrested 28-year-old Daniel Tallim of Barrie on Wednesday, May 6th. He has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
Tallim is the sole proprietor of Alpha Martial Arts on Little Avenue and has been involved in the martial arts community in Barrie for several years.
Police believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone who may have information or believes they may have been victimized to come forward.
There is no statute of limitations on sexual offences, meaning charges can be laid long after an alleged incident took place. Investigators also reminded the public that a sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature.
Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to email Detective Constable Erica Sinclair at esinclair@barriepolice.ca or contact Crime Stoppers Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
