Barrie Police say a 28-year-old local man wanted in connection with an April stabbing investigation has been arrested.
Adam Myshak was taken into custody by Toronto Police on Thursday, May 7th, in connection with an unrelated matter before being turned over to Barrie investigators on outstanding warrants.
The arrest stems from an incident on April 11th, when officers responded shortly after midnight to the area of Anne Street North and Donald Street in Barrie for reports of a stabbing.
Police say the victim was transported to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
Following the investigation, Myshak has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Police are continuing to search for a suspect following a stabbing in Barrie that left a man with life-threatening injuries.
Barrie Police say 28-year-old Adam Myshak is wanted in connection with the incident, which happened just after midnight on Saturday, April 11th near Anne Street North and Donald Street.
A 43-year-old man was found at the scene suffering from serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre, where he remains.
Myshak is facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts not to approach him, but to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
