Road closed sign (stock)
Drivers in New Tecumseth will have to wait a little longer for construction work to begin on 20th Sideroad after the town announced a weather-related postponement.
Town officials say the road closure between 9th Line and Benson Street will now take place from Thursday, May 21st to Thursday, May 28th. The closure had originally been scheduled to begin today.
Construction crews will be carrying out road work daily between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with the schedule remaining weather dependent and subject to change.
The town says access for local residents, waste collection services and emergency vehicles will continue to be maintained throughout the project.
Motorists are being encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays and follow posted detour signage while travelling through the area.
