Residents in and around Oro-Medonte may notice an increased military presence this week as personnel from the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command conduct training exercises in the area.
During the exercise, residents may see military vehicles and equipment operating in the area, as well as both uniformed and non-uniformed military personnel. It’s noted that the exercise is part of ongoing training designed to ensure personnel remain prepared for operational requirements both at home and abroad.
Canadian Special Operations Forces Command says training in unfamiliar environments helps personnel develop the skills and adaptability required to operate effectively in a variety of situations and locations while serving Canada’s national interests.
Officials are thanking local landowners and community members for their cooperation and understanding as the training activities take place.
The training is scheduled to take place until Wednesday, June 3rd.
