The Innisfil Indian Association is inviting residents to take part in the community’s first Mantra Meditation and Bhakti Yoga experience this weekend at Innisfil Town Square.
The free event is being presented in partnership with ISKCON Barrie and Food for Life, and will combine meditation, music, mindfulness and community connection.
Organizers say the gathering is designed to offer residents an opportunity to step away from daily stresses, experience guided mantra meditation and explore Bhakti Yoga through devotional music and mindfulness practices in an inclusive environment.
Attendees will also receive a free nutritious vegetarian meal through the Food for Life program, an international initiative focused on providing food and support to communities. The event is supported through the Town of Innisfil’s Community Food Project Grant, which helps improve food access, strengthen social connections and support residents experiencing food insecurity.
“We believe community is built when people come together to learn, share, and support one another,” says Loki Swain. “This event is about nourishing the body, mind, and soul while creating meaningful connections and ensuring that everyone has access to healthy food in a welcoming environment.”
The event will include guided mantra meditation sessions, Bhakti Yoga activities, cultural exchange opportunities, community networking and free vegetarian meals for participants.
Organizers hope the program will help introduce residents to meditation and mindful living while also raising awareness about food insecurity and community support initiatives.
The event takes place Sunday, June 14th, at Innisfil Town Square, with doors opening at 11:00 a.m. Admission is free, although registration is required. Residents are encouraged to attend with family and friends.
