Drivers in Innisfil can expect construction-related delays and road closures beginning next week as the Town moves forward with a major road rehabilitation project along 6th Line.
The work will take place between 5th Sideroad and 20th Sideroad and includes pulverizing the existing road surface, stabilizing the road base, reshaping the roadway with granular materials, and applying a new driving surface.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 22nd, with crews expected to remain on site for about six weeks. The timeline is weather dependent.
Residents living in the area may experience temporary disruptions during construction, including increased noise, dust, and construction activity.
The first phase of work will require a road closure on 6th Line between 5th Sideroad and 10th Sideroad from 7:00 a.m. on June 22nd until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26th.
While the closure is in place, access will be maintained for local traffic, school buses, waste collection services, and emergency vehicles. Detour routes for other motorists will be established using 4th Line, 5th Line, and 7th Line.
The Town says road closures will be implemented in sections as construction progresses along the corridor.
Municipal officials are asking residents and motorists for patience and cooperation while the rehabilitation work is completed.
