The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is inviting residents and visitors to celebrate Canada Day with a free community event.
That’s on Wednesday, July 1st, at the Bradford & District Memorial Community Centre. Festivities run from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will feature live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food vendors, community booths, and a fireworks display to cap off the evening at 10:00 p.m.
The event will also include the Town’s annual Civic Awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m., recognizing local residents and groups for their contributions to the community.
Entertainment throughout the evening includes buskers, roaming performers, dance performances by Elite Dance Corps, and a headline performance by Canadiana, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
Families can enjoy a Kids Zone featuring inflatable games, a rock-climbing wall, and soccer-themed activities inspired by international soccer events taking place this summer. Additional attractions include a toddler tent, youth zone, airbrush and glitter tattoos, strolling entertainment, and photo opportunities.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase from several local vendors.
Due to limited parking at the event site, organizers are encouraging attendees to park at the BWG Leisure Centre, where a free shuttle service will operate throughout the celebration.
Mayor James Leduc said Canada Day is an opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate shared values, and recognize residents who help make Bradford West Gwillimbury a welcoming place to live.
